Historically, Yorkshire has always been known for its grand old houses, large estates and excellent grouse, partridge and pheasant shooting.
While some of the grand houses have disappeared and the estates may have become smaller and more diversified in their interests, the reputation of Yorkshire shooting has certainly not diminished.
In fact, along with some clever country tourism marketing, Yorkshire is once again heading up the “must visit” locations in the UK.
This author of this well written article has been tasked to identify the Top Twenty Shoots in Yorkshire. Good luck with that I say!
While few would argue that those shoots on the list deserve to be there, there must be an other twenty or so excellent shoots that are not. Excellent fuel for a pub fireside discussion.
The bottom line, Yorkshire is a shooting and fishing mecca. Make sure you try it out soon.
