Kentchurch Court Estate is a 5,000 acre estate, where sporting enthusiasts have enjoyed driven pheasant and partridge shooting for nearly four decades.

Situated in the Monnow Valley, on the Herefordshire/Monmouthshire border, the topography of the estate, with rolling countryside and traditional mature woodland, lends itself to presenting some of the highest birds in the region, guaranteed to challenge even the most discerning shots.

There are already a number of superb drives, The Orchard, Castle, The Elms and Horse’s Head to name just four, where the grounds fantastic topography lends itself to producing top quality sport.

The normal daily bag is between 150 and 250 birds, smaller days may be available later on in the season or tailor made days can be arranged. Both pheasant and partridge are released with the occasional wild duck.

The day will normally consist of four drives, with a mid-morning field snack taken after the first two drives, followed by a further two drives.

There will then be plenty of time to enjoy the hospitality of the Court at the end of the day, when the Guns will be having lunch in the majestic dining room with its roaring fires, surrounded by family paintings and Grinling Gibbon carvings.

Alongside high quality shooting, the Guns can enjoy staying at Kentchurch Court; the ancestral home of the Lucas-Scudamore family since the 14th Century. The Court offers a unique setting for entertaining shoot parties, set in a stunning parkland setting, it can accommodate a team of guns either before or after a day’s shooting.

Some Guns prefer to have breakfast and coffee on arrival, whilst others prefer to stay the night before.

Guns can enjoy a relaxed evening with all of the food locally sourced; the vegetables from the Estate garden, and venison from the Deer Park.

There is also the option of a number of excellent local hotels that are happy to cater for shooting parties and dogs.

Arrangements can also be made for anyone wishing to arrive by helicopter. Loaders or instructors can easily be provided if required.

Kentchurch Court is approximately 15 miles from the end of the M50 motorway which gives access to the M5 north and south. It is approximately 12 miles from the A40 giving access to the M4 at Newport to Bristol and Cardiff.
